The KnitList, a listserv for knitters to talk about what they love, coined the term FO or Finished Objects, to designate projects that have been completed. Many knitters, including Patty, tend to start many projects over a period of time. Some may forever remain UFOs (UnFinished Objects).
| In 1995, Patty bought some bargain yarn on her first visit to Straw Into Gold, a great yarn/fiber store in Berkeley, California. This sweater was started in September with an eye toward taking it on a trip to New York City. One sleeve went to NYC. The sweater was finished in mid-October. It is a variation on a the Diamond Cable sweater pattern from Vogue Knitting, Winter 1996-1997. A few mistakes were found as Patty progressed through the instructions. Because VK has not posted the corrections on their site, you will find them here. |

In Vogue Knitting Fall 1988, the Hearts of Aran sweater caught Patty's eye. As her first sweater knit in the round, she made this sweater out of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece. The yarn knit up very quickly even the boring stockinette part. |
| A quick project was needed to make for Evelyn for Christmas. Out of the stash came some Bucilla santa fe yarn picked up at a closeout sale. It's camel hair, cotton, acrylic, and wool. The pattern is from Knitter's Magazine No. 35 Summer 1995. It's a twisted rib pattern knit on US needles size 11 for the right side and size 8 for the wrong side. This sweater was started and completed over the Thanksgiving weekend. |

Other quick-knit-gift-projects included circular facecloths (6) from the Knitted Cloth Exchange in various colors Lily Sugar and Cream yarn, and a ski hat from a Family Circle Knitting issue (which was dubbed a "beanie" by its 18-yr-old recipient).
