Finished Objects

Being sidetracked by database projects (Threads and Photo Album), Patty was lamenting about not having time for "made" projects. However, a few things did get finished, and documented.

This scarf is Patty's first beading project, and final Christmas present. It was actually complete for Anne in time for giving on Christmas day.

The scarf is made of two different rayon velvet fabrics, with a variation on a seed beed fringe pattern from Ann Benson's, "Beadwear." The hardest part was trying to bead small black beads in the December evenings.

It's always a challenge to come up with birthday present at the heels of Christmas gift making. This sweater was completed in time for Patty's mom's birthday on January 13.

The pattern is Family Circle Knitting, Fall 97 #14, using two strands of Lion Brand Wool Ease yarn.

These are the dog beads that did not get sent off for the Dog Bead Swap. Check the dog bead that did, as well as the 15 other cool dog beads.

Since the recipient, Sarah Jones, is in England, Patty had to find another model. Sterling, the bear, shows off Patty's most recent handiwork. Made of 50/50 cotton/acrylic yarn (Lalena Monsun), the sweater and cloche are from a Stephanie Gildersleeve pattern from Knitters 39 — Buttercups and Bluebells. (Note: Pattern corrections can be found in Knitters 40)

Edith's Owl

July 1998

Patty needed a hostess gift, since she had invited herself to stay with friends on a Denver trip. This started out as "jade" but ended up as "soapstone" using Premo and Sculpey polymer clays, sculpted around an aluminum foil base.

The owl itself is based on a Lalique owl Patty and Tom received as a wedding gift.
