BIOGRAPHY

Born in Boston to a large Italian family that has produced several professional artists, Karyn received her first drawing lessons from a favorite uncle at the age of four. From 1965 to 1969, she attended art school in Washington, D.C., majoring in fine arts and graphic design. She later completed graduate level classes in scientific illustration. Her talents in graphic design and art direction led to a successful career in advertising, publishing and marketing communications in the electronics industry on the East and West Coasts. In 1991, she returned to art as a full-time commitment.

Recently moving to Cape Cod, Karyn is currently painting and exhibiting at the Damselfly Studio and Gallery in East Sandwich. Other galleries include Color & Light, Mendocino, CA, and Cape Home Emporium, Yarmouthport, MA. Her work is in many private collections in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., has chosen several pieces for the Audubon exhibit Fall 1998 in Washington, D.C., and they will remain part of the permanent collection of the museum. Karyn's work has been featured in television, movies, advertising campaigns and interior design magazines. Summit Editions publishes and distributes several series of garden and nautical prints through major retailers such as Crate and Barrel and Pier One.

Karyn was awarded Best of Show at the CDCAA 50th Anniversary Exhibit in 1998. Kary has exhibited in may juried shows on both coasts ans has wond numerous awards. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Cape Cod Art Association.

Karyn and her art have been featured in magazines including Cape Cod Life.
